We look to improve the performance of our portfolio businesses by providing management capabilities and the necessary financial resources for investment.

For our London office we are looking for a

M&A / Finance Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)


  • working with and providing legal support

           - to our investment team in the course of M&A buy-side and sell-side transactions as well as

- debt financing transactions for our debt division.

This includes in particular:

           - conducting legal due diligence and valuating the findings

           - financing of M&A, private equity and debt financing transactions

           - discussion of transaction and secured financing/ intercreditor structures with the investment team

  • supporting selected portfolio companies and platforms of the AURELIUS GROUP with a particular focus on corporate matters. Beside restructuring advice, this also includes the company or debt re-organisation as well as the management of all related legal topics within the portfolio or client company.

  • management of external legal counsel and serving as first point of contact for the AURELIUS GROUP.

Qualifications required

  • law degree and admission to the bar as Solicitor

  • min. 5 years of legal work experience in the Private Equity or Corporate Finance sector with law-firms or in-house as well as strong background in financing / distressed finance

  • profound industry knowledge in restructuring law (UK law) as well as relevant experience in restructuring-related M&A-transactions

  • profound understanding of business contexts and complex issues

  • structured and thorough but pragmatic and result-oriented working method

  • entrepreneurial personality with strong negotiation skills with distinct communication and presentation skills

  • quick comprehension, high motivation and commitment

  • result-oriented personality, highly developed sense of responsibility and strong team work

  • business fluent in English, other language skills are welcome
