Getronics Germany Group completes integration of IDS GmbH

  • IDS GmbH now fully integrated into Getronics Group
  • Getronics Group becoming a market-leading Workspace specialist in German market
  • Recent strategic achievements growing size and portfolio focus

Germany, 15 June, 2015 – Getronics Germany Group has now completed its integration with IDS GmbH after Getronics’ parent company, the AURELIUS Group (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), acquired IDS GmbH from T-Systems International in autumn 2014 and revealed their plans to integrate the two organisations.

Getronics Germany Group has experienced significant growth recently and currently employs 650 highly qualified individuals. “The impact of the integration on our size and portfolio focus has meant that we are a market-leading vendor-independent workspace specialist in the German market,” said Christian Schmehl, member of the Getronics Group board and responsible for its German affiliates.

Getronics provides efficient roaming field services and onsite projects across various sectors in Germany, all of which are supported by service desk delivery capabilities and a focused IT consulting team. “The completed integration and recent strategic achievements will allow our German business to enhance its consulting portfolio, particularly with regards to hardware business and in the public sector”, Christian Schmehl continues. “In addition, our German business will experience great benefit from Getronics Online Services, the company’s cloud solution, and Next Generation Workspace Services that Getronics Group has successfully developed and deployed.”

Getronics’ German clients, ranging from “Mittelstand” and German public sector organisations, to large global corporations and channel partners, will benefit from its new strategic positioning.

“In Germany we are an organisation that speaks the language of the German Mittelstand, but as part of Getronics Group we are also capable of providing services to any international organisation”, Christian Schmehl says. “We have recently started to deliver a large cross-border outsourcing project with a German industrial company, where our German business proposition at its core. Thanks to the successfully completed integration, there are additional future projects planned with Mittelstand.  It is via these types of projects where our new positioning is delivering tangible results with great success”, Thomas Fetten, Getronics Group COO, confirms.

The above is the result of a focused corporate improvement and integration plan across all business functions and portfolio offerings. The span of the integration is well visible. Also because the brand includes the abbreviation IDS, so that Getronics IDS signals our German business.

In line with the overall group’s strategy, the Getronics Germany Group will continue to focus on developing and delivering Next Generation Proactive Workspace solutions and continuing its growth path.
