AURELIUS subsidiary Building Partners Group takes over container service provider as part of an add-on acquisition

  • Rent and sale of various container units with a focus on the construction industry as a strategic addition to BPG's logistics services
  • Strategic add-on acquisition and a classic succession plan for the previous shareholder underline AURELIUS' investment approach

Munich/Berlin, 11 January 2022 - BPG Building Partners Group ("BPG"), a portfolio company of AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8), is acquiring Container Handelsbüro Peter Bonitz e. K., based in Berlin, from the previous private owner in an add-on acquisition as part of a succession plan. For Building Partners Group, the acquisition is an ideal addition to its service portfolio in the field of construction logistics, which operates throughout Germany under the independent brand "LoXite". The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction, which was completed yesterday.

Container Handelsbüro Peter Bonitz is active in the rental and trade of containers for the construction industry. This includes steel box containers, sanitary facilities, and containers for office buildings and similar facilities. The range of services includes transport, disassembly/assembly of the containers as well as additional services such as cleaning and repair. The container business is a targeted addition to LoXite's construction logistics portfolio and enables the company to leverage significant synergies, such as cross-selling with BPG's other activities. Until now, containers have been partially rented from third-party providers.

"This acquisition follows AURELIUS’ strategic investment approach of developing its portfolio companies in a future-facing, growth-oriented manner within the framework of targeted add-on acquisitions. BPG is a prime example of this, as we have already very successfully expanded the company in this way in recent years," says Matthias Täubl, CEO of AURELIUS Equity Opportunities.

BPG Group, headquartered in Wandlitz near Berlin, is a leading scaffolding and construction services company operating throughout Germany. The company sees itself as an expert in all aspects of scaffolding. In addition, BPG Group offers a comprehensive range of services related to the assembly of construction sites and in the field of construction logistics. These services include, for example, elevator and lifting technology, winter constructions and heating, construction of electricity and water management systems, and the control and support of logistics. Since the acquisition in 2014, AURELIUS has been providing operational and financial support to BPG Group in order to implement its targeted growth strategy and expand the Group's business activities in Germany. Since 2014, BPG Group has already acquired BSB Bau- und Spezialgerüstbau Franke & Wagner GmbH and the business operations of the Munich-based scaffolding company Gustav Raetz. In the future, the Group plans to further increase its market shares in the DACH region through strategic growth measures and add-on acquisitions.
