AURELIUS Refugee Initiative e.V. Supports "Pavillon der Hoffnung in Leipzig e.V."

  • "PlayTogether" campaign against discrimination
  • Indoor playground as a venue for integration

Munich, November 2016 – AURELIUS Refugee Initiative e.V. is supporting the "PlayTogether" project at the "Pavillion der Hoffnung in Leipzig e.V." ("Pavilion of Hope in Leipzig") association with a donation of €50,000. "PlayTogether" is the association's latest project. Its objective is to prevent racism and promote democracy with children and their families from Germany and other countries. With its high level of attractiveness, the project is aimed at those families who avoid contact with people from other cultures for reasons of prejudice or antipathy.

To achieve this aim, a new indoor playground is to be the central attraction. The donation by the AURELIUS Refugee Initiative will be used to convert the old hall into a playing area of about 260 sqm in size with several levels and various attractions.

Formed in 2000, the "Pavillion der Hoffnung in Leipzig e.V." association provides a valuable incentive for hope for cooperation between people of different backgrounds. The activities in the functions rooms on the old trade fair grounds in Leipzig range from community projects designed to combat poverty through training courses and promotional events to games and fun. The aim is an "ecumenism of hearts" through social interaction and reconciliation between generations and cultures.
