AURELIUS acquires the ARBAprocessing Group
- Leading European manufacturer of vehicle modules and containers mainly for the dairy industry and dairy engineering
- Succession solution found for Barlian Management Consulting GmbH and the Barlian family
- Two successful production units: Vehicle modules for milk collection systems and container production primarily for the dairy industry as well as logistics and process engineering
Munich, August 28, 2015 – AURELIUS Mittelstandskapital is creating a succession solution for the Emsdetten-based ARBAprocessing Group. The owning family led by the long-serving managing director and majority shareholder Reinhold Barlian is handing over full control and responsibility to AURELIUS. The ARBAprocessing Group consists of two operating units. The unit covering collection vehicle modules under the established, well-known Schwarte and Jansky brands is a manufacturer of state-of-the-art milk collection vehicles and trailers that acts as a full-service provider from development and production to performance of after-sales servicing and repair work. It is the market leader in the German-speaking region. The unit responsible for container systems, which operates under the Schwarte and Milfor brands on the market, engineers, designs and produces storage and process containers for the dairy, food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals industries. Working out of five locations and production facilities in Germany, Austria, and Poland, the corporate group has commercial operations in just about every European country alongside its main German-speaking markets. The company generated expanding revenues of approximately EUR 50 million in the 2014 financial year. The parties have agreed not to reveal the financial details of the transaction.
Reinhold Barlian has worked hard to drive the successful expansion of the corporate group over recent years and has gradually transferred the operational management of the firm to a management team at the same time. This same team will continue to run ARBAprocessing going forward, thus ensuring continuity at the company and the further expansion of the corporate group under the new owner. AURELIUS aims to help the company evolve, focusing on expanding the existing market position and entering new regional and industry growth areas. In addition, AURELIUS is able to contribute a framework comprising proven operational experience and a large business network that opens up further growth opportunities.
“The succession arrangement secures the future for our workforce and the entrepreneurial work we’ve done together over the last few years. AURELIUS has demonstrated that it’s in both a strategic and an operational position to make the right decisions and was always a reliable partner in the transaction negotiations,” comments company founder and majority shareholder Reinhold Barlian.
“We’re delighted that such a prestigious businessman as Mr. Barlian has opted to partner with AURELIUS Mittelstandskapital and look forward to working with the management team,” enthuses Carsten Abdel Hadi, AURELIUS Mittelstandskapital managing director.
The transaction is subject to the usual completion conditions and approval by the responsible antitrust authorities.
