(Senior) Manager IT Practice (m/f/d)
AURELIUS’ Task Force is a close-knit team of advisors with deep functional expertise and long-standing management experience. They support value generation in portfolio companies through effective and hands-on project and change management in the areas of Procurement, Operations, Sales/Marketing, IT and Finance.
Responsibilities
Our in-house “IT Task Force” supports and advises our investment team on IT-related issues in the context of company acquisitions and disposals. You will be involved in all IT-related issues of corporate transactions at an early stage, design strategies for the best possible separation of companies from their groups, create independent IT infrastructures and implement the scenarios you have designed. At the same time, you are responsible for the planning and management of various IT projects on the process, application, and infrastructure side in ongoing business, as well as for the identification and implementation of sustainable optimization potential in our portfolio companies.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the investment team regarding IT-related issues as part of the due diligence process in connection with the acquisition of companies, in particular the draft of carve-out scenarios and estimation of the associated costs
- Coordination of IT transformation projects, e.g. ERP modernization.
- Advising the investment team on IT-related issues in company purchase agreements and the conclusion of transitional service agreements with the seller
- Support for software license transfer agreements and optimization of the respective licensing situation
- Responsibility for the implementation of IT carve-out projects after the acquisition of new company investments (steering committee, project management)
- Selection of internal and external project staff and service providers, including consultant management for complex IT projects
- Establishment of a network of implementation partners and system houses to offer the portfolio companies a broad and differentiated range of IT services and software solutions
- Identifying and leveraging joint sourcing potential in the IT sector
- Supporting the investment team in divesting companies
Prerequisites
- You are an experienced IT all-rounder with knowledge of IT infrastructure, ERP, and end user standard software
- You work in a consulting-oriented manner and able to use your broad knowledge in a wide variety of situations, both in the context of expert discussions and at management level
- Demonstrable experience in the field of IT transformation projects and the development of IT landscapes
- Successfully completed studies in computer science, natural sciences, engineering, or economics
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the context of an IT consulting activity, in an IT company or as an IT manager
- Experience in managing complex IT projects both in IT infrastructure and software implementation
- Entrepreneurial thinking and acting, implementation strength and cost awareness
- Excellent communication and leadership skills combined with strong analytical skills
- Pragmatic way of working
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Fluent in English, other language skills are welcome
