CASE STUDIES
Getronics
2017
The customers and employees of Getronics had been unsettled by the repeated changes made by the owner KPN to its business strategy, resulting in weak sales and high employee turnover. The degree to which Getronics was integrated into the structures of the seller KPN made for a complex carve-out process. The measures taken by the Operational Task Force of AURELIUS included a cost reduction program and a systematic road map to strengthen customer loyalty.
The portfolio of products and services was harmonised across all countries. AURELIUS also integrated five add-on acquisitions, which expanded the company‘s market presence from 13 countries to 21. The changes reduced the level of employee turnover, with the number of employees increasing from 2,700 to 4,700. With total exit proceeds of more than EUR 230m, Getronics is one AURELIUS’ most successful investments.
