Our Commitment

The AURELIUS Refugee Initiative is dedicated to improving the living conditions and future prospects of migrants and refugees in Germany and abroad, in particular by promoting life-saving measures and education. The Initiative was founded in 2015 based on the belief that help is most effective when delivered directly.

The Initiative has donated over GBP 1m to a number of projects since inception.

How we help

The AURELIUS Refugee Initiative wanted to help, quickly. It began in October 2015, at times of the European migrant crisis, when a number of colleagues drove a minibus full of toys to children at a refugee processing facility in Munich.

Since then, the initiative has steadily expanded, with the list of organisations supported growing and many in the portfolio getting involved.

We have supported numerous charitable projects and activities with funding and donations over the years. Many portfolio companies are also involved in supporting the initiative in a variety of ways.

Donations for various projects

The AURELIUS Refugee Initiative sees education as key to sustainable integration, not just to make it easier for refugees to find employment, but also to improve the outlook for better and happier lives overall.

AURELIUS employees and the Executive Board are passionately and financially involved in numerous aid projects. The fundraising campaign organised as part of the annual AURELIUS Christmas party has a long tradition – with AURELIUS matching the amount raised by the team.
